Twelve nations, Six will go through
Over a six day period seven matches will take place to decide the final six CONCACAF nations to progress to the second round of the World Cup qualifying stage.
Dominica and the Bahamas have it all to do still with both matches still to be played, Dominica the named host the first of these tonight. Both matches however are being played in Nassau, Bahamas.
Cuba hold a slender lead going into their home match against the Cayman Isnalds. The Caymans stunned the Cubans in their first match by not only restricting the baseball mad country but also scoring themselves to keep the tie alive. Despite this however Cuba will be expected to abruptly end the Cayman's campaign for the third straight time with a home victory.
Surinam will host Aruba on the same day also with that slender single goal lead. Surinam held a two goal lead only to allow their hosts to get one back, bringing the tie to life once more. With both this match and Cuba's match both being played on the 27th it looks like this night will be one to watch as te four teams fight for survival.
Close contests seem to be the order of the day with St. Lucia holding a 1-0 lead going into their home match against the British Virgin Islands. Titus Elva's 54th minute strike is all that seperates the nations on a day which will also see the second Bahamas Vs. Dominica match.
The final two matches of CONCACAF first round qualifying take place on the 31st with Antigua and barbuda wanting to shut out Netherland Antilles after taking the first leg 2-0 at home. In the second match for the day St. Kitts and Nevis will conduct formalities in what seems like the only certainty left in the region. However 4-0 deficits have been brought back before and St. Kitts and nevis will be wanting to finish the job against the US Virgin Islands.
