World Cup experience to coach Honduras

The Honduras have only ever been to one world cup in their international footballing history, Spain '82. Now they are looking to make it a second birth after appointing Serbian Bora Milutinovic as coach.

Milutinovic is well experienced in the world cup arena as a coach, leading five different nations to football's biggest stage. They include CONCACAF giants the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica as well as African giant Nigeria and world cup first timers in 2002 China. He'll be hoping his CONCACAF experience will help lead Honduras to Germany in 2006.

Milutinovic will be the third coach Honduras have used this past 12 months after firing Jose de la Paz Herrera and Edwin Pavon for poor results. Pavon's marching orders coming when they failed to progress past the first round of the Gold Cup.

Despite Honduras single appearance in the world cup, they made headlines for another reason in 1969 when a qualifier between Honduras and El Salvador sparked a small war between the two island nations.
