Dave's World Cup

Decision reversed! Cameroon given points back.

Despite an unsuccessful appeal regarding their loss of competition points in their World Cup Qualifying group, Cameroon have now been reinstated the points thanks to some heavy regional preassure.

A African Football Confederation (CAF) Extraordinary Congress met and unanimously put forth a request to FIFA president Joseph S. Blatter on May 19.

This followed losing the points on April 16 and the rejection of an appeal on May 12, for wearing an unauthorised strip during the African Cup of Nations.

When the punishment was proposed to be lifted, all 201 member associations voted for the 6 points to be reinstated. However the fine remained.
