Tunisia champions of Africa

Tunisia have scored twice to topple Morocco 2-1 in the African Cup of Nations final.

The host nation did well to knock Nigeria out in the semi-finals but beating Morocco, a team that thumped Mali 4-0 in the other semi, was icing on the cake for the home crowd.

Brazilian born Francileudo Santos scored first for Tunisia, before the goal was cancelled out by a Youssouf Mokhtari strike. But it was Ziad Jaziri's early second half goal that put Tunisia ahead. It would be a lead they wouldn't give up, allowing them to become the champions of Africa.

In the third place playoff Nigeria overcame Mali by the same 2-1 scoreline.

Osaze Odemwingie and Bolton's Jay-Jay Okocha scored for Nigeria to give them a 2-0 lead before Mali pulled it back with a lethal strike by Janvier Abouta.

Okocha was named as player of the tornament and was presented the award at ha;f time of the final.
